These translations are provided as a service. When you order one of our Bulk Permission Sets, we will include the available translations in your requested language for a $25 fee per language. Use this ($25) shopping cart icon to add the fee to your shopping cart and enter the number of languages you are requesting. It is important to indicate the language(s) in the “Special Instructions” area of the shopping cart order form or notify Mind Garden when you order by other methods. You must order both of the following items: 1) Bulk Permissions for the number of reproductions you need, and 2) the translation service fee per language.

The translations listed on this page are of varying quality. Many are done by researchers. Some translations are translated and then back-translated to check the quality, while others have not been back-translated. We typically do not know the dialect of the translation. We also do not have validation data on the translation. Some translations do not include all of the items that are on the English form; sometimes a scale or scales are missing on the translation. You will receive what we have with no warranty or assurance of quality or dialect. Basically, we try to provide you with what is available to facilitate your work.

TRANSLATION PERMISSION

If you do not see the language you need on our list of available translations, you may wish to modify or translate an instrument. Note: You will need a translation agreement no matter how few items of an instrument you are translating. If so, you will need to sign a translation agreement with Mind Garden before you begin. In order to complete this:

1) add the $25.00 "Translation Fee" by clicking the shopping cart —Translation fee $25.00;

2) return to the product page of the instrument you wish to translate and order one of the permission sets. (Important: Since you will be using the instrument, we require that you purchase 150 copies, or greater. For the GEFT we require that you purchase two packages of booklets.)

3) Fill out the survey of your information by clicking on this sentence. Mind Garden will review your request and determine if you meet the conditions for a translation agreement. If you do, you will receive a pdf file of the translation agreement (allow at least 10 working days for this).

4) If you receive the translation agreement, please print two copies, sign both copies and return both copies to Mind Garden. We will sign both and send one back to you. You may then proceed with your translation.

Important, two key concepts in the translation agreement are: 1) you will send your translation to Mind Garden and Mind Garden will be able to share your translation with other customers and researchers, and 2) you are signing over all rights (known as subsidiary rights) to your translation to the authors and copyright holder of the work.

You will have 45 days from when we sign the agreement to send Mind Garden your translation. Translations must be sent as two printed copies via mail and a Microsoft Word and/or an Adobe pdf file via email or cd. It is essential that we receive your translation, so if you cannot meet the 45 day commitment, please let us know.
