Ordering Details

There are four ways to order from Mindgarden:

Payment Options

Mind Garden accepts payment by MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover cards, and accepts institutional purchase orders. Payments must be in U.S. funds drawn from a U.S. bank.

Returns and Exchanges

Discounts

Bookstores and distributors may purchase Mind Garden products for resale at a 20% discount. California bookstores, please provide your tax exempt number when ordering. We will also need for you to fax us your resale form (650-322-6398). Since almost all Mind Garden customers are students or researchers, the only discounts are for resellers. Please contact Mind Garden about volume discounts.

Save time and avoid shipping charges

Regardless of whether you order the paper version or the pdf (electronic) version of an instrument, you will receive one copy of the instrument or document with permission to reproduce the purchased quantity. However, by ordering the pdf/electronic version you will save time and avoid shipping charges.

PDF Delivery Time. After you order the pdf version and complete payment on your order, you will receive an email with a link to the instrument or document you have purchased. By clicking on the link, you will view a copy and can save it to your computer then print the number of copies you purchased. Assuming there are no technical problems on your end or ours, most pdf links will be sent to you same day (Not instantly!). If 24 hours pass and you have not received your pdf, first check your spam and junk folders. If it is not there, send an email to Mind Garden at info@mindgarden.com.

Expiration of PDF links.  Your pdf link will remain on our server for approximately two weeks, thus it is best to download the pdf to your computer so that you will have access to it for a longer period of time.

About PDF Files / "No Returns Policy"

Many/most of our instruments are available for electronic purchase in Get Adobe ReaderPDF format. PDF files can be read with the free Acrobat reader, available at Adobe. When a product is available in PDF format, you will see the Acrobat icon to the right of the product title. It is important to know that this is exactly the document you want because you cannot "return" a pdf document.

We'll say that again: Please be sure you've chosen the right document, because PDF purchases cannot be returned. If you have any questions about the preview procedure, please call or email Mind Garden.

Copyright and Translation Permission

Mind Garden policies about permission to reproduce in publications and other issues related to copyright are listed on the copyright page.

If you want to modify or translate an instrument, please contact us for a translation agreement. It is important that you sign a translation agreement before doing the translation. You must order the minimum bulk permissions set (150 copies) plus there is a $50.00 service fee for the translation agreement.

Thesis or Dissertation Appendices

You cannot include an entire instrument in your thesis or dissertation, however you can request sample items. Academic committees understand the requirements of copyright and are satisfied with sample items for appendices and tables. To request permission to include sample items from one of our instruments in your thesis or dissertation, please send us the following (preferably on institutional letterhead): your name, the name of your institution, the name of your thesis, and the instrument for which you are requesting sample items. Please include your original Mind Garden invoice or sales receipt number. Fax (650 322-6398) or email us this information. There is no charge for this service if you have purchased a bulk permission set for that instrument; otherwise, there is a $50 service fee. In your appendix you will need to include the name of the instrument, the five sample items, the copyright statement for that instrument, Mind Garden, Inc., and our web address www.mindgarden.com.

Please allow at least three weeks to receive the permission to reproduce letter after we have received your permission request information. If you would like to have Mind Garden expedite your request to a week, you can purchase expedited handling for $50.00 (Please paste the required information above and the invoice or sales receipt number into the memo box of the shopping cart.)

You may receive this permission for five sample items already in the document when you order bulk permission. this would be the last page of the document.

Limitation of Liability

Mind Garden, Inc. will not be responsible or liable for the use or misuse of the materials or services offered in our catalog or website. The purchaser/user assumes all responsibility for use or misuse of the same. Mind Garden, Inc. will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due in whole or in part to any cause beyond its reasonable control.

Mind Garden, Inc. makes no other warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. In no event will Mind Garden, Inc., nor anyone else who has been involved in the creation or production of any of the printed works or software listed in this catalog, website or otherwise sold by Mind Garden, Inc., be liable for any indirect, special, or consequential damages arising out of the purchase or use of the materials or services from this catalog or website, notwithstanding any other provision or agreement between customer and Mind Garden, Inc. The customer's sole and exclusive remedy shall be correction or replacement of the printed work or of the software.

Putting a Mind Garden Instrument on the Web

Mind Garden requires the following If you would like to request permission to put one of our instruments into a Web-based form for data collection for your research (only data collection, no reports), we require the following information. Not all of our instruments can be put on the Web. Please note that distributing an instrument via email is not allowed.

Privacy and Data Policy

Data Policy: Mind Garden, Inc. (MGI) reserves the right to aggregate and use, without compensation to anyone, data obtained from the scoring or other processing of products published by MGI or otherwise sold or licensed by MGI, and to utilize those data for research, product development, and statistical or other purposes. MGI reserves the right to disclose such non-person-specific data to third parties, with or without compensation to MGI, as MGI sees fit from time to time.

Collection of Information on the Internet: Our web site may log a browser type and version when he/she visits the site. We use this information to help to administer our website. Our web site uses an order form for customers to purchase products and services. We collect customers' contact information (such as their address and email address) and financial information (such as their account or credit card numbers). We verify our customer-provided credit card information with a third party prior to order processing. Contact information from the order form is used to send orders to our customers. We also provide mailings and other marketing collateral regarding product information and releases.

MGI collects the name and e-mail address of the end-user (the assessment taker) for the sole purpose of providing MGI's customers with assessment results. MGI does not share this information with any third parties (other than the test administrator). Certain federal, state, local or other government regulations may require that we disclose personally identifiable information. In such cases, we will use reasonable efforts to disclose only the information required under applicable law.

Our web site may contain links to other web sites. We have no control over the privacy practices of such other web sites nor should the link be considered an endorsement of such other web sites' privacy practices. We recommend that you read the privacy policies of such other websites.

Security: When a user pays for an instrument or places an order online, the user's personal information and credit card information are processed and encrypted by offsite, secure servers using industry-standard SSL encryption. SSL is short for Secure Sockets Layer, a protocol developed by Netscape for transmitting private documents via the Internet. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Will MGI Disclose the Information It Collects to Outside Parties? We do not sell, trade or rent or otherwise give to any other entity or organization the individual information our customers submit when placing an order or taking an instrument on our site except as noted in this privacy policy. MGI does provide its customers with the individual information they need to properly counsel or advise their clients. In other words if you are taking an instrument on our site at the direction of a consultant, counselor or other individual, that consultant, counselor or other individual will receive, from MGI, individually identifiable information so that he or she may properly counsel or advise you.
