License to Administer

A $30 set up fee will be applied at checkout. Allows you to administer the COAST via a paper and pencil survey. The downloadable PDF file includes one copy of the COAST, scoring key, and permission to reproduce/administer the COAST for up to the quantity purchased. The PDF is non-refundable.

License to Administer

Purchase COAST License to Administer if you plan to administer the COAST via a paper survey. You reproduce, administer, and score the COAST yourself.

Since the color of the Stroop stimulus is very important, you will need to print the pdf on a photo quality printer on photo paper.

We charge $40 for you to reproduce one COAST card set from the pdf file. Additional card sets can be reproduced at a cost of $10 each. A COAST card set can be used with an unlimited number of clients.

In addition to purchasing this PDF, you will need the following to administer the COAST:

  • Stopwatch
  • Printer with color print capabilities

Terms of Use for License to Administer
This license grants you permission to collect and disclose (a) item scores and scale scores, (b) statistical analyses of those scores (such as group average, group standard deviation, T-scores, etc.) and (c) sample items only, as provided by Mind Garden, for results write-up and publication.

For example, with purchase of the License to Administer and when presenting your findings:

  • You may share the group's mean scale scores with survey participants and others.
  • You may not share items in publications with the exception of the sample items described with license purchase.

Note: this list illustrates some permitted and prohibited uses of the instrument and is not meant to be all-encompassing.

The instrument items, directions, manual, and any other descriptive information available through Mind Garden is the intellectual property of the copyright holder and can be used only with purchase or written permission from Mind Garden.

Larry W. Thompson, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus in the Division of Endocrinology, Gerontology & Metabolism at Stanford University School of Medicine. His research interests include psychosocial treatment for individuals with bipolar disorder and/or other serious mental illnesses; cognitive/behavioral therapy for late-life depression; and intervention research with culturally diverse individuals with depression.
